How to Play

Move diagonally on dark squares. Capture by jumping an adjacent enemy into an empty square beyond. Reach the far row to king a piece. Kings move and capture diagonally both ways.

What Checkers is

Checkers is American 8×8 draughts in this tab. Red starts at the bottom. Pieces move one step diagonally on dark squares. Jump an adjacent enemy into the empty square beyond to capture it. Land on the far row and the piece is crowned a king. Kings move and capture diagonally both ways. If a jump is available, you take it, and you keep jumping with the same piece until the chain ends.

How to use it

  1. Pick Play vs AI or Two-player. Against the AI, set Easy, Medium, or Hard.
  2. Tap a piece, then a marked square. Captures are forced when they exist.
  3. After a jump that can continue, play again with that same piece.
  4. Hint marks a legal move. Undo takes back the last turn. New game starts a fresh board.

Common uses

A short match on a phone. Practice multi-jumps and kings. Play a friend on one screen in two-player. Wins against the AI are counted on this device, not on a public board.

Privacy

The board stays in this browser. Moves are not uploaded. The AI win count is stored in local storage on this device only. Refresh or close the tab and the current game is gone. We do not see the position.
