What Classic Minesweeper is
Classic Minesweeper is the familiar grid in this tab. Hidden mines sit under some cells. Tap a cell to open it. A number is how many mines touch that cell, including diagonals. Long-press, or Flag mode, marks a cell you think is a mine. Open every safe cell to win. Open a mine and the round ends. The name is the classic ruleset, not a Microsoft product.
How to use it
- Pick a size if the page offers one, then tap New for a fresh field.
- Tap a cell to open it. Use the numbers to decide the next tap.
- Flag cells you will not open. Clear flags before you tap them if you change your mind.
- Win by opening every cell that is not a mine.
Common uses
A short round on a phone. Practice chord-free counting from the numbers alone. A local best time for a size you play often. No account, no board shared with anyone else.
Privacy
The minefield is generated in this browser. The grid is not uploaded. A best time, if the page stores one, stays in local storage on this device. We do not see where you tap.
