What Typing Test is

It is a timed WPM drill in this tab. Pick 15s, 30s, or 60s. Prompt is Words or Sentences. Words shuffles a bundled English list. Sentences builds short lowercase lines here, with a period at the end. There is no Start button. The first keystroke starts the clock. Nothing is uploaded to social-hub.io.

Type the highlighted word. Space advances. Time, WPM, accuracy, and errors update live. Restart deals a new prompt. When the timer ends you can copy the result. WPM uses the usual 5-characters-per-word rule: correct characters divided by 5, then divided by minutes. A matching space after a word counts. Best WPM and accuracy stay in localStorage on this device, keyed by duration and source (Words or Sentences). There is no account, no certificate, and no public board. The phone keyboard is enough. No microphone. No camera.

How to use it

  1. Choose 15s, 30s, or 60s, then Words or Sentences.
  2. Click the type field. The first key starts the clock.
  3. Type the highlighted word. Space moves on. Watch Time, WPM, accuracy, and errors.
  4. When the timer ends, copy the result if you want a note of it.
  5. Tap Restart for a new prompt. Change duration or source before you start if you want a different drill.

Common uses

Warm up before a long writing block. Check whether a new keyboard layout still feels fast. Compare a 15 second burst with a 60 second sit. Use Words when you want isolated tokens. Use Sentences when you want a period and a flowing line. The best line under the stats is a private high-water mark, not a rank. Copy result is for your own notes. The phone keyboard is the intended input on a small screen. Do not treat a high score as proof you can sit a formal exam. The word list is common English, not your own jargon. Restart if a prompt feels stale. The clock will not start until you type.

Privacy

Keystrokes are not sent to us. There is no login and no public board. This device may keep a personal best (WPM and accuracy) until you clear site data. The live run is gone when you close or refresh the tab.
